Rain in Melbourne

Just dropped Charlie off at school for his first day of the new school year and it has started to rain! This is in fact the very first rain we have had in the Mornington area since the weekend before christmas.....6 whole weeks ago!!
So for all of you not here yet and worrying about the "terrible" weather we get in Melbourne, can any of you remember the last time there was no rain during the whole of the school summer hol's in the UK...........probabley 1976 when we had the famouse heatwave!!
We do get colder winters than the other states but after a long hot summer its most welcome!

Isn't it fantastic!! We are in East Brighton, it started at about 8.30am and our 2 yr old is desperate to get her wellies on and find a puddle to jump in!

Isn't Melbourne the place where you can have 'four seasons in one day' as the song says? We like the look of Melbourne and that appeals to us too although the weather was never a factor in our decision, main reason our daughters future. I like the idea it will rain now and again, plus will help the drought you've been having?

Hope your son enjoyed his first day?

Oh Dear!! I should have known better than to have expected her not to park her bottom in the puddle rather than just her feet. Looks like the washing machine will be going on sooner than usual so I can hide the evidence of my folly before her mother gets home!!

hi is mornington more of a hoilday resort, than a residential area? whats the population. did u find it a problem finding a place to live. how much are u looking to pay rent say for a 4+2 in the mornington area, what the job situation like at the moment i am a builder/ joiner is there much in this line of work, or would i have to travel out. sorry for so may questions ha u dont have to answer all

Started raining in Frankston as the kids assembled on the basket ball courts for their welcome back assembly. We sang the national anthem in the rain and no-one complained. At the end of the day during our prayers (its a catholic school!) one child said thank you for the rain.
It was so nice that the kids didn't complain about wet break and it smelt so nice outside!

Aint complainin at all Mrs K.
Just got up this mornin to a big blue sky and a forcast top of 27 degrees......30 for the weekend. Off to a barby toninght.....so perfect.
I just luv this "awfull" weather Melbourne is famous for!!!!
