Mornington Peninsula

Hi there, as there seems to be lots of us hoping to and have already moved to the Mornington Peninsula just wondering how you're finding the house prices and how easy have you found it to find rental accommodation for when you first arrive.

HI Toutys
We're not there quite yet....... but hope to be there sooooooon, so will let you now when we get there !!!!!!!!!!
Have you tried the normal sites: www.realestate.com.au & www.domain.au they have the rental sections on them too!
Also a site called STAYZ.au has been helpful for holiday rentals for the frist few weeks on arrival to Oz, until you find a long term rental and all your stuff arrives if your shipping it over !!!
Sally-ann

Also heres a link to some others heading for Mornngton too !!! http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/victor...peninsula.html

Thanks Sally-Ann, we have had a quick look through realestate.com.au, will also take a look at the other sites/forum you have suggested. We, fingers (toes, everything else) crossed hope to be there either end of '07 early '08 if all plans come together. Hope your move goes smoothly and keep us all up to date.

We have been here for over 3 months now and its a great place to live and bring up the kids!!

House prices vary depending on which side of the Nepean Highway you live. Beach side you could be looking at $450,000+ for a 3 bed older property that needs work. On the other side you could get a newer 3/4 bed property for anything from $300,000+ (Only a 5 min drive to the beach). This would be for Mornington and Mount Martha. Mount Eliza is a bit more expensive.

When we were looking for rental properties 3 months ago there wasnt much around although driving around at the moment there does seem to be a lot more up for lease. I dont think you will have a problem.

Hope this helps.
