Schools Curriculum

Hi Guys,

I am currently going through the skills assessment process but wondered if there were any teachers amongst you who could give me advice. I am a history teacher looking to move to the Melbourne area but am concerned that I would be unemployable due to my specialism ( although I have taught Social Studies, Financial Literacy & Transition in NZ). Is there anybody there who is able to put my mind at rest?

It is also quite difficult to find somewhere that will tell me how much I would get paid as a top of pay scale teacher. If anybody knows could you give me an idea please as I would love to see what kind of house we can afford!

Thanks

First of all welcome to PIO! .... there WILL be someone here with the answers you need, coz there always is. Or I am sure somweone will point you in the right direction!

If you have a specific area in mind have you thought of contacting Education Authorities directly? .. or are there agencies that deal with placements in education?

Good Luck anyway!

Thanks for the welcome. We are pondering the prospects of moving to NZ as opposed to Australia. Any ideas of what the difference is & which would be better for teachers?

Thanks
