Hi Can anyone help with Berwick Victoria whats it like

Is there anybody that live in BERWICK Victoria or surrounding areas please can you give any positive feed back on what its like?
We are hoping to rent somewhere round that area as Mark is working in Nottinghill.Is there much to do ..as in shops nice places to rent.Ect.

Hi Trace,

We live in Berwick, have been here nearly 2 years. Great place to live, good facilities, great schools etc. We have 3 daughters 13,11 and 10. Fountain Gate shopping centre is a 5 minute drive away, there is also a large 10 screen cinema there too. Berwick is quite a large village plenty of places to eat out, very popular to go out for breakfast at the pavement cafes at the weekend. When I am not working I regularly catch up with freinds at one of the coffee shops. There are a lot of English families in Berwick, there must be about 50 English children at my younger 2 daughters school. We are off to a prty tonight at some English friends as they are celebrating 1 year in Oz. We also have lots of Ozzie friends, we live in a cul de sac (court) and our neighbours are fantastic.

Hi,

We came out to Oz two years ago and ended up in Berwick almost by chance. We have not regretted it for a moment. Its a very nice area with plenty of things to do, good schools and only 45 minutes in to Melbourne, 30 minutes or so to the beach and less than two hours to the snow.

You should like it and be able to settle in really well.

i hope you dont mind me asking but you obviously like Berwick and from what other people say it seems a lovely place.
can you tell me if the local secondary school is ok as i have three teenage daughters.
also what is the travel time and distance into the CBD as my wife who is a nurse looks like she will be working in one of the main city hospitals.
i have a feeling looking at the maps that it may be just that little bit too far
