Assessment of Primary Schools

Are primary schools in Melbourne reviewed and assessed by the Department of Education? We are looking for a school that is performing well but I can't find any government web sites with assessment info. Does anyone know if there is an assessment report on schools similar to the UK's OFSTED or the NZ ERO?
