Unhappy Help on local knowledge???

HI all, my fmaily and I would like to move to Melbourne but now sure as to whether our jobs are really needed in AUS. Could anyone help us as we've been getting conlficting news off the web.

I'ma Security Manager working for an FM company but contracted to the BBC. I also do various security & helth and safety training through my own company, small but works nicely arounds kids etc!!

My partner is a qualified hairdresser and beauty therapist, also works as a college tutor for hairdressing.

We are not sure what the call is for our skills, I have also been tyring to get info on large corporate businesses in Melbourne.

Can anyone help/advise us on the situation in Melbroune?

Many thanks

Rick & Lucy

Michael is a security officer here at the moment but will probably not go into security in australia. You do need to have a license to work in security, would advise doing some research on this subject.

Luckily for us Michael has his HGV license and various fork lift truck licenses so he is looking at working in transport / logistics out there.

hope this helps

Wink Many many thanks

I've been looking the licence side, I have contacted a Training company and awaiting for course dates, then I'll go over and just take the basic course so I can at least get the certificate.

Whilst there I'm going to have a look around.

We are still looking at Lucy's work also, trying to contact college's but not sure which are the best ones.

Also trying to find out the large corporate businesses so I can contact them direct.

Wish we were going tomorrow!

So much research to do but it'll be worth it!!

Many thanks for all the help we get.

Rick and Lucy

Please don't pack based on this: but I believe hairdressers are on the MODL - so Iyou'd have no trouble getting a VISA on your OH.

Many thanks Abi&Dan, we are looking at Colleges also, then see if her quals are recognised.

She starts her Cert. Ed teachers course in Jan 2008, for the year, so we know we have time, unless something good turns up and we go ealier.

Really good to know that there are people over in OZ like you lot.

Just keep on digging and searching.

Many thanks all, much appreciated!!!!
