Bonbeach,Patterson Lakes and Keysborough areas

G'day everyone in Victoria from sunny but cold St Andrews.
Once we have our CP visa(submitted April 2006 and no CO as yet) we will be heading for Melbourne- Bayside area.
When we were over there early 2004 we visited the Australand's new housing estate at Bonbeach and it looked quite nice with the added bonus of a free years membership to the Golf club there. Does anyone have any experience of that area? eg nearness to shopping,transport etc. :?:
Same info if poss for Patterson Lakes and also the "new build area" around Keysborough. Would appreciate any comments on these areas.
We spend hours looking on real estate websites but they just don't give you the feel of places or the local facilities.
