work

Hi Fraser, seen ur posts on here and you seem very helpfully and in the know!
My Hubbie is a regional manager for a structured cabling / fibre optic company working in partnership with B.T.
Can you point us in a good direction for sponsorship or work opportunities.

Thanks

Leanne :)

Hi Leanne,

there was someone else asked a similar question a couple of months back...

The big boys here in Comms Cabling are Telstra and Optus... but there are smaller players too. I'll see what I can find.

Study in Geelong

If anyone requires study pathwway for Geelong, both university (on campus/off campus) at Deakin and Gordon TAFE (Vocational VET) .

We are official agents of both and we do not charge any consulting fee and we are Australian :)

Talking Engineering advice in Geelong?

Hi Fraser
you sound an expert on Geelong and the surronding areas so wonder if you have any idea of engineering type jobs in the area or have any contacts that we could use to look into jobs for my oh who has experience of fork lift truck repair and paint spraying, vehicle body repair and machine maintenance.

Any help would be appreciated.

Donna,

Why not approach two of the main employers in Geelong: Alcoa and Ford?

http://www.alcoa.com/locations/austr...ry/en/home.asp

Good luck!

Hi Shaz,

For clarity... there are two types of school...State and private. State schools, like UK state schools, are "free". Some primary schools ask for a "book-box" levy, usually around $100 (40 quid) per kid per year. School trips and school camps are usually extra.

Private schools range from Catholic Schools (from about $2500 per year upwards) to the posh ones at thousands per term.

School uniforms are more common here than in the UK, and most kids wear them, but for primary schools it is usually the school T-Shirt and shorts or school polo-shirt...and generally every bit as cheap as other stuff the kids would wear anyway.

Secondary schools uniform policy varies and quite a few do not seem to bother so much these days .. private schools are usually very strict on uniform, and uniforms can add a few hundred dollars.

People here seem to manage just fine,... and very few do 7-day weeks... My mate steve drives a concrete truck. His wife doesn't work. He does okay on, and manages two holidays a year (he goes to Darwin in May / Junefor the Hidden Valley Motor racing, and off into the bush every Christmas.

Hope that helps a bit...
