Oh no! not another STNI question...

Hi everyone
I'm filling in the points section of my 47SK (subclass 137) and I'm wondering what (if any) difference it makes if you've got State Sponsorship. e.g. is the pass mark lower? do you get extra points? Please advise if you can!

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy

You will get extra points if you have been sponsored.

Good luck

Mo

Sorry to contradict anyone  but you don't get additional points for STNI applications But the good news is, assuming you receive (or already have) State Nomination, you only need to meet the pool mark, (which was 70 points at the start of the year when I applied, having not checked since then I don't know what it is now) and the other criteria e.g. language, medicals etc.....
Hope this helps

Hi Andy

We 'pesky varmit' are a couple with three kids hoping to emigrate to Adelaide end of October. We both post on the forum as some people may have already worked out, hubby would be the abrupt factual posts, whereas mine on the otherhand, are a bit less aggressive. Did you know you can apply directly to State Governments for nomination, prior to visa submisssion? You may save some time as you can wait in the pool for up to two years for nomination.

Good luck with your application.

Hi - I'd assumed that if you've got STNI then your visa is priority processed. Is this not the case? We have STNI sponsorship from Victoria already, and I'm now wading through the 47SK. Joy. What line of work are you in?

Andy

We received extra points for being sponsored by the Victorian government.

And came on a STNI Visa, and because of the extra points do not have to sit around for ages waiting to be picked from the pool

Missiemo, my most humble appologies if I offended you this was not my intention. State/Territory sponsorship points can only be used in SIR (Provisional) applications (at least that's what the form says). In STNI applications the whole points issue is not as important as you only need to meet the pool mark, medicals, etc.......... as you are nominated by a State Government and receive priority processing and don't have to wait in the pool for nomination or sponsorship.

again please accept my appology
