Horrah :D :D :D someone else going to the state of Victoria, okay you may be living miles and miles from me but hey it is someone going to Vicotria and not Perth :D :D :D I would say sit back and wait, once you get you meds requested I was told you are on the home straight, unless you have some deadly disease
We are landing in Melbourne 21 March 06 and hey I am going to be landing, no job, no home and most importantly no girlie friends to go and sit and drink vino with and discuss the up and down of life (my most favourite of hobbies) if you are in train, bus journey I will defo meet you, if you get there before me check out the happy hours and the places to go, might turn up with a sleepin bag in tow.... Let me know when you get the call, I know it is so close I can smell it.
Hi Bet,
Great to hear from you, do you know where you plan to live in Victoria ? Will you have any kids or hubby in tow as well  and finally what type of work are you going to be looking for ?
Well enough with all the questions :D , Sean and I like a drop of the vino as well, getting acustomed to the ozy wines :D would defo like to meet up, I lied I do have another question  where do you live at the mo ? Oh ye and how far along are you with your application ?
Speak soon

Hi there I have just moved to Wangaratta, not too far from Wodonga (just down the Hume highway towards Melbourne). It is really lovely here we have been here just over a month and love it.
The kids have settled straight into the local schools and the people here are really friendly. The area is well served by local vineyards and restaurants and there is some stunning scenery. You do have to travel a bit further for the beach but it is doable for a daytrip and I am more than happy to make that sacrifice.
There are a few UK families around here but not as many as in Mebourne but that just means that you make friends locally as well as from the expat community.
How long are you planning to move here for? How old are the kids? Mine are 16,10,7 and 3 and we are planning for this to be a permanent move although we are here at the moment on a 457 visa while we get the PR sorted.
Let me know if you need any info, we have been through Wodonga on our way to a wildlife reserve in Albury and there are plenty of choices for where to live in the area.
All the best.
Nicky :D
