Let me know when you get the call, I know it is so close I can smell it.

Hi there I have just moved to Wangaratta, not too far from Wodonga (just down the Hume highway towards Melbourne). It is really lovely here we have been here just over a month and love it.
The kids have settled straight into the local schools and the people here are really friendly. The area is well served by local vineyards and restaurants and there is some stunning scenery. You do have to travel a bit further for the beach but it is doable for a daytrip and I am more than happy to make that sacrifice.
There are a few UK families around here but not as many as in Mebourne but that just means that you make friends locally as well as from the expat community.
How long are you planning to move here for? How old are the kids? Mine are 16,10,7 and 3 and we are planning for this to be a permanent move although we are here at the moment on a 457 visa while we get the PR sorted.
Let me know if you need any info, we have been through Wodonga on our way to a wildlife reserve in Albury and there are plenty of choices for where to live in the area.
All the best.
Nicky :D
