Just Arrived In Melbourne........
Hi
My name is Mary and my husband and I arrived with our 2 children last week. our boys are 1 and 2.5yrs. My husband is working full time and I am looking after the boys for now, although I will probably look for work soon.
We are thinking of living Bayside, although haven't found a house yet. I am keen to meet people with kids similar ages and also any advice on playgroups or softplay would be appreciated. I have signed up for mini meastros starting on Monday as a start!
I look forward to hearing from you
thanks Mary

Welcome to Melbourne Mary!
Good advice from Petals.
There are other peeps on here in your situation so hopefully they will be along soon.
Good luck

Bayside is great in terms of facilities for kids - you don't have to walk far to find nice playgrounds and the beach. If it's a rainy day then you have Kids Space in Cheltenham and Play Days in Sandringham which are big indoor play centres - I take my 1 year old and she loves it.
Gymbaroo is a good class if you want to sign up for something, and swimming lessons can be found everywhere - we go to Waves in Cheltenham.
Everything that I've mentioned can be googled and I'm sure that other people will have some suggestions for you too.

Hi there, welcome to Melbourne! I have a one year old girl and a three year old boy and we live in Edithvale. Let me know if you fancy meeting up some time. Get yourself on Playgroups Victoria and you will find listings for places in the areas you are interested in living. The local libraries have great rhyme times and story sessions. Have a look at littlemelbourne.com.au too for info on lots of things to do, see and visit

Thanks Mary

They would be in different classes due to their ages but I'm sure there should be a way round it - I go to the Cheltenham one and the lady that runs it is lovely. If you google it you'll be able to get her contact details. I'm going to try and find out next week too as I have another one on the way and want to keep taking my little girl as she loves it!
If all else fails Kids Space or something similar is great as the kids can just run around while you get to have a chat - when you move over this way get in touch and maybe we could meet up - that includes Comingdownunder - my mum has gone home now so am about again!
