Geelong....Pls can you recommend good areas or areas to stay away from PLSSSSS !!

Pls help....

We came over in February and liked the look of Geelong but we was only there 5 days. Can you sell Geelong to me.....what do you like about it?

Can anyone that lives in the area pls help me with the nice family places to live with good primary schools/kindgarten.

If anyone knows of any places to def stay away from too this would really help.

Hi there, well I live in Geelong and it is a great place for families. You've got the Great Ocean Road (Torquay, Anglesea, Lorne, 12 Apostles) and the Bellerine Peninsula (Queenslcliffe, Ocean Grove) in one direction, and Melbourne an hour away in the other direction. Geelong itself is a very family friendly environment, lots of parks and playgrounds, the waterfront, an improving restaurant and cafe scene.

We live in Chilwell which is lovely. Chilwell Primary School is really nice. http://www.chilwellps.vic.edu.au/

Other areas that are popular with good primary schools are:

Newtown (Newtown PS http://www.newtownps.vic.edu.au/)

Belmont (Roslyn PS http://www.roslynps.vic.edu.au/index.html, and Belmont PS http://www.belmontprimary.iinet.net.au/)

Highton (Highton PS http://www.hightonps.vic.edu.au/).

Worth consideration also is Herne Hill with Herne Hill PS http://www.hernehillk6.vic.edu.au/

Lastly, wouldnt recommend the area (Bell Post Hill) but deffo would recommend the Kardinia international College http://www.kardinia.vic.edu.au/

Manifold Heights and East Geelong are also good areas.
Further afield, Barwon Heads is a great little seaside village.
Avoid Whittington, Corio and Norlane.

Geelong is a great city, just stick to the western aspect.
