      Derrimut

      Hi

I am interested in getting feedback on the Derrimut area of Western Melbourne and in particular the Brimbank estate - is it a good place to live ? How close is it to Sunshine hospital ?
      cheers

I am in a similar scenerio as lm going to be working at Sunshine hospital and if anyone can advise on good suburbs for young families to live l would really be grateful l am looking for somewhere with really good schools or private schools as l have two boys 4 and 7yrs old. Transport access will also be something l will be considering as l wont be driving initially.

I don't know the Brimbank estate well - I have only ever driven past it. Derrimut itself is a brand new area - there is a lot of industry there and a lot of large trucks rumbling around. It is a flat and featureless area. Personally I reckon its one of those areas you live in because you can't afford other areas, but I am happy to be proved wrong by someone who actually lives there.
