Aspendale Christmas and NY

Just thought i would let people in Melbourne know how lovely Aspendale beach is! We stayed in our landlord's beach apartment for free over xmas (very lucky!) and had such a great time. We were feeling a little shaky about Australia, we felt a bit lonely in the city and hadn't felt like we had experienced that much of the 'real' australia - but, we came here and were so welcomed by everyone who lives here and for one of the first times we really felt happy to be around so many nice aussie people who we got on with. We were invited for xmas dinner round our neighbour's place and had a great time! It was lovely to be treated so well by everyone, had such a laugh! we went back to the city and then returned for New Year which was great.

It is lovely around here, the beach is gorgeous and less than an hour from Melbourne. We have done some swimming - the sea is quite warm, except it feels colder if the wind is blowing! The sunsets are really beautiful too. Definitely worth a visit if you fancy a day at the beach, and the people here are fantastic!

It is a good beach as is the whole beach along there. I have a friend who lives right on the beach front at Edithvale and used to spend time there when the children were young. Very handy.

We lived in Edithvale for 11 years and very happy years. My oh used to take the children to the beach early on hot days, very handy.
