No claims discounts

I have read that it is possible to use my UK no claims over in Oz as some insurance companies will accept them. Can any one shed any light on this and recommend any insurance companies worth checking out?

I had full no claims in the uk and when taking out a policy here i was given a discount for having this ,,they never asked for proof but did ask for the uk companys name ,,hope this helps a bit
