Question S.A Driving Test

Hi All,
Could anyone advise whether we need to re-take any sort or driving test to get a driving licence in S.A?
Paul

Hi Paul

I am not in Oz yet but this has come up before and the answer was NO. Apparently you just get your licence changed over within three months.

April

Hi Paul,
Yes April is right..since late 2005. Just rock up to the local centre, pay heaps and be prepared to have your photo taken!
Whilst you don't have to, you might like to take a look at http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/licences_certification/drivers/theory_test.asp
and try the sample test questions. It's pretty much the same here, but I'm glad we had to prepare for the test as there are some different bits here. Just MHO!

Thanks LC,
So there is a test then, albeit written?

Hi Paul

No there is no test at all - you can just "test yourself" on theory online if you want.

You just exchange your license.

Unlike me - who arrived in 2000 and had to take a full test!!!
Nervous as a kid I was.

So much easier now.:)

Sorry Paul, I obviously made my explanation clear as mud!

LC
I hear they still have to test you cross-dressing Yorkshire-types though Tyke.... (Wish the raspberry-blowing smilie was still available.)

Thanks, that'll cheer my missus up, she was anxious at the thought of going through a driving test again.
