Car insurance query

Just a thought.....Does anyone know if you can transfer your 'no claims bonus' to a new car insurance policy when you get to Oz?

My oh had a traders motor insurance policy (also included was or normal car ins) and we were able to bring the no claims bonus with us.
Our insurer in UK provided us with no claims certificate, which we brought with us. When we insured our car here we told our new insurer and they just accepted it.

Thanks for that Deb, we'll make sure we get copies of our no claims bonuses before we eventually go! Was worried about having to start from scatch again. Could prove very expensive!

Oh yeah, forgot this bit well remembered Deb! We had a hell of a time getting OH proof of no claims (Tesco) and only just got it to Budget within the 14 day period. Mine had been cancelled a month before we left and I didn't need it. RACV honoured my no claims!

We took a copy of the latest renewal showing 5 years NCB and they took our word for it on the phone and gave the same NCB without sight of the renewal so YES.
