All righty!! Thnks a lot for all the advice. However, there seems to have been a misundertanding. I ask a question and everyone is supposed to give me the same answer! Then I can say that I got the best advice! Now I have more choices.
I decided to do a bit more research. A ToTom on the TomTom UK website (Tomtom One 3rd Ed - for the purpose of camparison) is £149 and £127 on Amazon but less on ebay. The Australian map via wwwtomtom is £60 so I could get the tomtom and map Europe inc and Oz for £187. Or on
wwwtomtom Oz site the same model is $399 (£173), so technically it is cheaper to buy in Oz. Its not like I need the Europe maps! I could try picking up the 'thing' in the US on my way but that is only £5 cheaper and I don't need the US maps unless it is for 4 days in LAs Vegas. Then I suppose I could wait and look in duty free (can I buy in duty free in Oz if I am arriving there?).
I am going to get in touch with a car dealer and ask how much one would be if I bought it included in a new car - Genius - yet another choice!!!
Thanks for the advice. It's great to know other people are in the same boat...er car.
I will let you know what happens.
