      Car Price

I have been in touch with all the Toyota dealers withina lot of miles of the Sunshine Coat to get the best price I can for a car.

I want a Toyota Yaris Sedan Manual Aquamarine (metallic) which is lovely! :)

They don't make the sedan here and it seems to be a lot bigger than the UK Yaris.

The dealer nearest where I am going has agreed to match the best price found and install a nav man (after all my research for a Tom Tom!!) for $18,700. It was $200 less without the GPS. That's about £8,250.

Can anyone tell me if that's a good price or should I shop around some more. I want to get it ordered so that I can pick it up soon after arriving, which isn't far away.

Also, is it worth getting the insurance with the Toyta dealer too.

If there are any car geeky people out there or someone who is, or has been on a similar mission, I'd be grateful for some advice.

      Thanks
      Rebecca

      Hi there

Why not check out car sales website and try to see if there is a comparable car?

      Hope that helps

The dealership will rip you off on insurance. You will save heaps by shopping around, I have found you get a better price over the phone rather than the internet, tell them you are shopping around and ask "is that is the best price they can offer you". You can get a 'cover note' immediately so you are covered before you drive your car out of the yard.
Some of the main insurers are RAC, QBE, SGIO, you can get quotes online, this will give you an idea how much insurance is going to cost then maybe ask the dealership how much they are going to charge you.

I have no idea how much a new Toyota Yaris is to buy so can't help you there. Does the price they have given you include stamp duty and on-road costs? These will have to paid also.

      Hi Jo
Have you looked at the Mitsubishi Outlander? We have one and its fantastic!! We did buy the demonstrator with everything on it inc parking sensors which oh really pleased about (as he says for obvious reasons)!! He doesnt know what he talking about!!
When we looked we looked at loads of garages and test drove so many cars. When we were in the uk we had an ML and to be honest we are more pleased with the outlander than the ML!!

      Hi Jo,

I got me a Kia Sportage. It's the 2.7 V6 version and I lurve it. I got an automatic (no choice - Mr B said I had to) and I am so glad I did. I paid $32 900 and reckon I got a very good deal on it. Go for a test drive and see what you think! Then you can afford the personalised plates as well.
