Nearlythere1
Hi, There are lots of companies that will provide this service. Not really allowed to slate companies on here (for legal reasons). PSS are affiliated to this site, they will give you a quote for that. We used John Mason international in the end. They've been great so far, but our stuff is still on it's way so we won't know how good they are till our stuff gets there undamaged etc.. Most people get separate insurance or none at all, as the shipping company insurance appears to be dearer than independent insurance companies.. Best of luck.. :chatterbox:
louise x x x x x
Thank you will look into them - they seem to have a good reputation. so much to sort out
LouDYorkie
I can't really comment on how good various shipping companies are but a couple of things to be very careful with: Contents being packed by yourself/the Shipping company: They do write an inventory but ensure you make very detailed notes and name EVERYTHING if that is what your insurance requires. It will save a lot of hassle at the other end in the event of missing items. Choose a reputable insurer, don't just use the shippers insurance because it is 'easy' or you assume you have to as part of your package-this is probably not the case. We made that the mistake, had a fairly bad experience and things took a long time to resolve, even with the help of 3rd parties. Having said that, best of luck with your move!! tina0101
We got Crown, Pickford and PSS out to quote. All pretty similar and we went with the one we had the best feeling for. Everyone has good and bad stories, so it's luck of the draw!! :-)
KirstyLP
Could anyone give any recommendations and even ones to avoid? Check out the FIDI website for a list of certified international movers, that's a great place to start to ensure they meet the strict quality standards required for international removals. Another source if you want independent reviews too is the British Association of Removers Trusted Mover (trustedmover.org) website, search for overseas group members. Hope that helps! tina0101
We used Crown and our stuff is now at the port - hoping customs get a shift on. Crown we did forget to tell us that our stuff changed boats at Singapore - so we tracked the original boat doing a tour of S Korea and China and wondering why it wasn't heading to Brisbane!!
