      Question Pickfords and bournes

      Hi,

Has anyone used either of these companies going to Perth and is so, was you pleased with the service?

How much was your quote and cubic feet for a 20ft sole container?

I would love to hear from you.

      Many thanks.

You might also want to try GB Liners, PSS Removals, Interdean, or Team Allied. As people have previously suggested in this forum, don't be afraid to ask any of them to price match.

      Good luck!

      Hi Simcar,

Can I please ask you when Mason's quoted you?

We have been quoted quite a bit more last week for a 20ft container-surprising how they are different prices isn't it!!

      Good afternoon,

I came across this post while doing some research on Google. I work for a removals company myself and know the ins and outs. I also saw you had a thread about haggling the prices. Most removals companies don't add a lot of profit on the quotes and are unable to haggle. However, if the quotes are both from a BAR mover, you have more luck. Send the copy of the cheaper quote to the other company and say can they match it or do it a bit cheaper. Doing it that way should give you a bit more luck.

Also when choosing a removals company make sure they are FIDI member, because if they are not and they run into financial difficulty while your shipment is in transit you're going to have trouble. And besides, if something goes wrong (which can happen in this industry with any company) then you have somewhere else to complain.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with :)

      Hi

We are moving to Perth in Aug, well husband is off in 2 weeks to get a job, myself & daughter following in August.

How much volume do you have to take with you? We are taking 800 and are realising it is cheaper to put that in a shared container rather than a 20ft sole which some companies automatically have quoted. That may be an option you could consider to bring the cost down.

Our quotes have been between £3000 and £3500 so are just in the process of haggling down to £3000 if we can! Quotes have been from John Mason Int, Robinsons, Doree Bonner, White & CO & PSS. All seem good, but think we are set to chose between John Mason, Doree Bonner & PSS.

      Will keep you updated!
      Becky.
