      Washing Machine and dryer

How have people gone on shipping their Washer & dryer over to Australia! have you had to put stabilisers on the drum like when you buy them new? Im interested to know have they worked on the other end of the journey>

If you have them or can get them do, or the drum springs can sag with the vibration of the ship and knock it out of balance, I kept mine luckily !
Tumble dryers aren't so critical as they have no weights in them and I've never seen one with transport bolts.

Ours got broken in transit. No parts here to repair it anyway so bought a new one with insurance.

We shipped our washing machine and it was fine. I don't think we had the bracket, but the guys shoved pillows or something inside it to stabilise it a bit.

      :)

Does anyone have a spare instruction manual for a baby girl?

You can often buy 'transit bolts' from the spares people if you have chucked them away - the other method is stuffing pillows up each side of the drum.

We shipped our WM and dryer. I had to replace the inlet valve on the WM once it got here as it started leaking, and the drum was full of mould - couldn't have dried it well enough and the shippers closed the door so couldn't air!

      Dryer was fine.

Our dryer was fine. The washing machine we brought with us had the transit bolts etc fitted, but the first time we used it when we got here it gave me an electric shock. We got someone out to have a look at it (at huge expense, cost us about $125 per half hour!), and he couldn't find out what was wrong with it and thought that maybe it had been dropped at some point, although there were no dents or anything. Couldn't really prove that one way or the other, and so we couldn't claim on the insurance. Had to fork out for a new washing machine. I think it was just bad luck on our part, and would definitely think that it is worth bringing yours because they can be expensive.

We shipped both. We couldn't find the bolts so my husband just made do with some general ones he found. Our stuff only arrived last week but both washing machine and dryer seem fine.

Reminds me to mention if you are going to use the machine with an UK-AUS adaptor (not saying you did LKC), make sure you have an earthed adaptor - I foolishly used an unearthed adaptor the first time and got a tingle off the machine.

      Cheers.

We'd changed the plugs, the guy checked that first. It was a bit more than a tingle too !
