      Question Time shipping

Hi, brand new to this, heading to Melbourne early next year on 457 visa. How long does it take for a container to go from Uk to Oz.

Container will usually take around 45 days to arrive and you will then have a few days for customs clearance. So usually expect to wait around 8 weeks to see your stuff again

Unless it's over Xmas time - in which case add another week :)

We sent our stuff in August and its still not here, they said it would be about 8 weeks, we got a call to say it will be delivered next week so it will have taken 12 weeks by the time it arrives.

You also have to bear in mind when the container will actually leave Port in the UK. Although you may be giving a sailing date, this is not set in stone and your container could be sat waiting to sail for a week or two. Also if your container is a shared one not sole use, this also delays the time as you need to wait until its full before it can leave.
