certified docs

Just had phone call from solicitor regarding certification of docs havin spent £25.00 ON Photocopying all our docs myself and sorting into order with originals for his conveniance, he now tells me he cannot certify these as he has not done the photocopying.Now trying to renegotiate our agreed fee for his services,what a b..... cheek !!!!

I totally agree with AJ we copied ours ,solicitor checked with originals then certified them!
Just seems as if they want more for photocopying services

Why pay him a penny? What are the docs for?

If its for your visa then get your doctor or a nurse to sign them for you. Have a look at the immi site there is a list of people that can sign them. It doesn't have to be done by anyone in the legal profession. Those leeches get enough cash. Also if you are applying on line just scan the originals in colour and they don't have to be signed by anyone.
If its for your skill assessment why not take them to your local JP? They do it for free.

As does your bank manager,i photo copied everything for TRA and visa at local shop took the lot to bank and the manager stamped and signed the lot for free

You need to get yourself a different solicitor. When I first started my application I was not married and had sooooo many docs to certify. I used three different solicitors and two of them were happy for me to copy documents myself. Also the first solicitor I used charged me £7 for each doc but then I found one that cost £2.50 each doc shop around and learn from my mistakes!!!!!!
