ARGH!

Avoid, avoid, avoid. I grew up in Elizabeth (Andrews farm is just to the north) and it's one of the few parts of Adelaide where the population has actually shrunk - people leave that part of the world. If you like the semi rural life then go up the Main North Road to Gawler - a bit of a hick town but no where near the Chav (Aussies call them 'ferals') levels they have in Elizabeth. Andrews farm is about 30 mins (30kms) from Adelaide.

If you want a reasonably priced suburb closer to the city try Kilburn - and you're closer to better amenities as well.

Stirling and perhaps Blackwood are not too far from the city, but still elevated and situated at the foot of the Adelaide hills. Absolutely beautiful place to live and I would even go as far to say, one of the nicest areas to live in all of Australia.
I lived in Stirling for a brief period and it is a wonderful place. Very English and very pretty. Full of warm, honest and friendly people as well.
If you are planning to work in the city centre, commuting by car will be around half an hour from Stirling.
If you want high-rises and a beach, then it is Glenelg.
BTW...Glenelg is the only place in Australia that is exactly the same word if you spell it backwards!!!

Another question on areas...........

We have pinpointed Golden Grove as an area of interest to us.......................any info on that area.

Any comments greatly appreciated.

We are looking at being over this time next year (so my crystal ball tells me).........with 4 children aged 13, 12 and 12 and our eldest aged 20.... need a good high school.....lots of bars, cafes and things to do. And of course a splash of sunshine.
