Hi There

Myself and my family were in Adelaide last July. We stayed with my cousin in the hills where is was very cold and very wet but when we left the hills and headed to the city it was beautiful sunshine and quite warm. A bit like our late spring/early summer. I believe it can get cold at times but on the whole is not too bad. I knkow they have good summers

Hope this helps

Lillian

It does get cold on an evening and first thing in a morning and you do need to put the heating on. Last year we had frost on the grass and some of the locals had only ever seen it in the hills, the car had frost on the windows also. During the day it can get cold when the wind picks up. You will need a coat and I do wear my hat on the beach, even though the Sun is shining. I have worn my gloves and scarf when we've been stood on the side line watching school sports games early morning on a weekend. When my mum came out to see us last July we took her down to Victor Harbour whale watching and it was cold and we needed the full works. We do wear coats in winter, however it can soon warm up and you need to take them off. We don't wear them anywhere near as much as we did in the UK, but you do need them. If you intend to go whale watching or walking on the beach early in the morning then definately bring your beanie (that's what they call them over here). Hope this helps.

PS. Dear Chippie, yes, it's so cold my joiner's bag fell off last year and I became a woman. Seriously.
It depends where in Adelaide you are, as some areas can be many, many degrees lower than others. Or higher obv.The days might seem quite clement, but the nights, oh the nights....
Are extremely cold. People use electric blankets/ wear strange things to bed / and generally moan. IMHO it can get snuggled-under-blanket cold, and the nights can be much colder than you might have experienced in the UK mainly because the houses are not (mostly) designed to retain the heat, and central heating is just a European joke.(Which isn't to say we don't have heating systems.Just that IMHO, they're not as efficient.)
Otherwise, it's fab!

Super TinBasher away! Is Lazy Cow your sidekick? :p

I have my heater on most evenings. =D But I continue to wear sleeveless tops...It gets REALLY cold on the beach, mainly because it's windy. And it's cold in the mornings...I wake up, get out of bed and wish I hadn't.

What a good idea Me, I've always wanted a sidekick, don't know what her special talent could be though. Any suggestions gratefully received...

Mrs TinB
PS. Don't be shy I am sure there are 100's of Cow jokes out there.

What??? Who exactly?? PLease tell me you are not contaminating Australia yet, you strange creature Me.

Oh and don't patronise me with your flower.:p

Otherwise some very nice side-kick abilities there Me. Obviously my favourite has to be the 'roll on people' one as it would take the least effort. Very important to a woman of my status. Not that I intend to be anyone's sidekick, least of all that hoon, Mrs TB.(More of a disease than a name, isn't it?)
