I wouln't comment;
a: Because it really is a personal thing. When my calf was bullied by High school students I asked, on AdBrits (good site; little humour) for experiences of the school. One person had taken their child
out of the school as they had been bullied, whilst another had put their child
in after they had been bullied elsewhere.
b: A teacher I highly respect was placed in a school where Special Measures had been introduced. Feral and pretty wild (the school, not the teacher.Hmmn.), she was not impressed on first sight. As the days progressed, she found that the bad behaviour was as much caused by bad teaching / leadership, and that the kids that seemed the most disruptive were actually quite nice, and liked to learn given her entertaining and challenging style.
I get quite fed up with labelling schools 'good' or 'bad'. I'd suggest you go with an open mind, perhaps look round the local area for clues,check the school's policies and achievements - and listen to what your kids think.
But what do I know? I'm tired after such deep thoughts..
