Hi Dean, I am new to this forum as well, just been reading a few of the quotes and answers, came across yours and realised we are in the same boat, My husband and i are thinking of emmigrating to Adelaide, and like you my husband is in the gas industry, he did work for british gas, but went on his own a few years ago, we have been over to Adelaide a couple of times sussing things out, house's, areas, cost of living etc., as for jobs you have to look in the local paper in the career section, or go to the local career adviser, i think we remember seeing one in the centre of Adelaide, we did not go in as we are not yet living there so there is no point in registering with them yet, but when you do live over there look into any of those two options or go to the local council and ask them if they have a list of any local gas company's. Hope this helps Hilltop

Hi, i have read your posts about emmigrating to oz, im very intrested in migrating, my partners family live over there, e.g mother, aunts, uncles. i have nvq 2 and nvq3 which i have recently just passed along with my acs qualifications in gas, waiting for certificates to apply to corgi. Im still not sure on what there plumbers annual salary is, because i would not be able to apply as a gas fitter because of lack of experience. Could anyone help put more light onto the situation. Also how long does the miggration process take. many thanks

Hi Dean,
We are looking to go to Adelaide some time soon. We are just waiting for our visas to be granted after a long process. My husband is a gas fitter and has been for the past 12 years. We have looked into the type of work available and if seems to be the same apart from the boilers, e.g. fires, cookers, water heaters all seem to be the same.
We have two children both girls aged 8 and 5.
Let us know how you get on as we might see you there some time soon.
Sue and John Daniel x
