Aha... That ol' chestnut! :D  :D
If it is a standard analogue telly...leave it at home.
A digital telly, with digital or component inputs should work every bit as well here as in the UK. However the process of loading into a container and transferring across the world (especially when some of the container lifters use electromagnets) can cause grief to cathode ray tubes (not sure about LCDs and PLasmas but it wouldn't surprise me).
You may find that your shipping insurance has a clause that excludes "electrical derangement" to any shiped item. This is teh get-out-of-jail-free clause for tellies that are stuffed on arrival.
I brought two... and both were "deranged" when they arrived.... insurance claim rejected .....and I bought an Aussie telly....
Other stuff is mostly fine, cos we are 200-240V, 50Hz here too.
Two options to consider ... when you arrive you cut all the plugs off and replace with aussie plugs (Different shape), or bring a few cheap British powerboards out of B&Q (you know the things... 4-socket-extension boards), and stick Aussie plugs on the end of *them* when you arrive... and keep using the Brit plugs till the items die. (Ten years on my own PC system still runs that way 'cos the board has a high-end surge protector.)
