We've been here for 1yr as of end November, 1st 6months were very tough, other half of yr not too bad, starting to settle now, at last. 2 kids (4yr Girl and 2yr Boy). Still wish we had play mates for them tho. We could actually do with exercising our social skills too and have maybe some sort of meet.
Whether it be pub or bbq?
Organised 1 meet which was OK but thats another story, even kept in touch with a few that we met. Anyone fancy setting one up.
Mango Hill Tavern has bar and park attached, and close to N/Lakes and Highway for those near and far, Beaches and parks well spoilt for choice.
How's about organising a quiz team for pub quizzes or meeting at North Leagues RSL where theres a child minding room for 3yrs+ and adults can relax for a while. (mbrship cheap enough and they have courtesy bus for locals), wud make for nice sunday arvo meet?
Loads of way's to break the ice and relax after such a big move to Oz, but who's gonna be the brave one??????????
Who knows you may just find some friends, maybe not, but you'll have someone to chat with for 1 or 2 hrs, i'm sure!!!

We are living in North Lakes and have a 3yr old daughter, who would like some play mates. Her parents also require some adult conversation. We have been in Oz for 13mths, l am a nurse and hubby is a stay at home dad at mo. If you want to meet up for a chat and kids to have a play, let us know.
