Hi,

Presently living in Poole, Dorset not quite Wilts or Hants but pretty close.

I am in the process of applying for a visa due to a job offer in Melbourne, awaiting the official contract offer then will be applying for a 457 Sponsored visa.

Good to hear from you. Wow, you must be really excited in getting the job offer and move to Melbourne! Any ideas when you will go?? What sort of work will you be doing??

We will be moving possibly mid-late August, I will be in Sales on a corporate basis looking after the state of Victoria with the same company I work for presently but just in a better climate.
It is exciting but also very much terrifying as selling up everything here and shipping the whole family with schools etc.
It was just too good an offer to turn down.

Hi Claire. My hubby and I are off to Melbourne (hopefully around October time). We live in Hampshire and are currently waiting for our visa to be processed. When are you planning to head out there? Whereabouts are you in Hampshire? You must be excited to move to Melbourne and hope you won't have to wait too long!! When did you start applying for your visas? I'm hoping to move early next year depending the timescale after I lodge my visa (currently waiting for my skills assessment result which has taken a lot longer than I thought). I work in the local government in Southampton as a PA/Support Officer. What kind of work do you and your husband work in healthcare?

Hey Claire. We are also in Southampton, what a coincidence! My husband is a nurse and I am an Occ. Therapist. We started our visa application a few weeks ago and we had the medical and chest x-rays last week, so not that long ago! Apparently we have been told it can take about 5 weeks to have it all go through, so just waiting now! Will keep you updated on the progress, as it all seems to vary all the time. We really hope to be out there by October as my husband's job starts in November! Let us know if there is anything else you want to know. There are so many people planning a big move to Oz that its great to chat to people that are going through the same process and have the same questions.
