I have been here 1 year, previously in Marbella for 5 years. I now realise how good life was there and can't wait to get back. All the things folk post in the nice fluffy "we love Aus" threads IMO Spain beats easily. The only thing it (Spain) falls down on compared to Aus is the language.

We have been here ourselves (Spain) for 5 yrs and as you say life here is good, you say the only thing it falls down on is the language. What about red tape, inflation, high crime rates, rising unemployment, to mention just a few points. I don't see it getting any better. At the moment we are not immigrating, just going for 6 months to see if we like it. We have a son who has settled in brisbane. So that is where we are headed, where in Oz are you to find it so bad.
It is Costa Blanca, Espana. We land at Murcia and then drive to Torrevieja, it's sort of Alicante way, just wondered if you were near there but obviously not if you don't know where it is - no worries

We're flying into Murcia and heading to Orihuela for a couple of weeks in August, is it nice?
