Just logged on to this website and am hoping to meet up with fellow Oz lovers

Just returned from a rekkie trip to Gold Coast/Brisbane….amazing!!!!

We would love to get together here in the Uk to talk about some of our experiences and hopefully share with others.

Just a while away from you in Normanton so we'd probably be up for a meet. Managed to make the one at York and like Andy said quite a few turned up. ( Hi there Andy & family, hope things are moving ok for you)
We're hopefully going to Newcastle/Lake Macquarie area and have just done our online visa on 7th May so early days yet, still mega excited though! Have a five yr old girl who's also up for the move (which is good), in fact she has asked for a swimming pool for her birthday! (which has been hard explaining that I don't think we'll be there for June!!!!!)
Anyway, welcome aboard the Poms in Oz site I'm sure you will be very addicted very soon.

Hi all,

It would appear there is at least a little interest in arranging a formal meet....so how do we do this...I wasn't involved in the York one!!

Is it easier and more effective if we to do it during the day so that families can come or do we meet one evening for something to eat (adults only).

Grateful of suggestions although I'm happy to make the arrangements.

Hello lisa,

We have been to two, one in Nottingham and one in York. The one in Nottingham was in a large pub/restaurant. I don't think this went so well as there seemed less interaction of the people and you didn't know who was going to Oz and who was not. The one at York was successful because we had a function room, and people knew who were going to Oz by virtue of being in the room. I would fix a date first and find out how many are interested. Once you know find a pub, one with a function room possibly depending on numbers. Then just put the location and time on here and we'll mob it.

I will bring stickers with me, I think it would make life easier if everybody put their first name, their callsign i.e mariandyok , and their destintion on them. It can be hard trying to remember so many peoples names.
