As Andy says think it would be a good idea to float a few dates around and then try and get a function room sorted somewhere. The York meet was a private room but was also a two for one + wacky warehouse for anybody who took kids with them (although I don't recall seeing many there.) If it was a private room though it wouldn't matter anyway because kids would be allowed in. Will try & rack my brain for some suitable venues and give us a shout if you need any help organising.

I'd have to wake the oh up and run it by her but I think we would be interested, difficult to promise though without a date as we work oposite shifts at the mo so would have to get holidays to free the time up.

Hi Thompson16 we would love to come as well were from Derbyshire so not far and would love to meet up with all those i met at York again.If i was you i would put up one date first and see what reaction you get would get a function room also it seems to work much better the one at nottingham didn't work so well because we all took children in a public area at meal time which meant we all ate then by the time everyone was finished most were chasing children round that were getting tired me included this not giving time to mix and chat with everyone now this was the first one that i and maria and andy had been too and the first the couple had arranged (sorry cant remember there names)so no fault on their part but i would say a private room is essential so the ones that do bring children can let them run around with out having to chase them as much.

I think these meetups are a fantastic idea. Only wish i had found this site when we were still in Yorkshire! It would have been really nice to know some familiar faces on arriving in Oz as it was very hard meeting people (still is a bit hard work). So even if you are the shy type i would strongly recommend you try and help yourselves by getting to a meetup if you can.
We are moving again interstate so now i know this site i will be on the lookout for meetups.
