If you go on british expats there is a meet up in Portsmouth may bank holiday (end of may). It is being organised by someone called Batsy. Might be a bit closer for you to go to.

I had an e-mail from Selena a couple of days ago. She and the children are leaving for Sydney on 30th April. John is staying behind to sell the house because he validated his visa in December but Selena and the kids can't wait any longer because I think their meds expire sometime soon.
Selena is one VERY brave lass, taking 5 children to Oz on her own, though I think at least 2 are around 17. Don't know about the younger ones.
thanks for that gill you have to take your hat off to her for being that brave, i wouldnt like to be in her shoes on the 30th....will be thinking of her

I've gone onto British Expats and can't find anything - not used to that site, so it probably just me!!
Could anyone tell me when and where in Portsmouth this meet will be. We live in Portsmouth and would love to meet up with more "future Poms"!!

If you go into the Australia link and then mett-ups it is on there. It took me a while to find it too. The meet up is at 12pm on Bank Holiday Monday (end of May) and it is at the Farmhouse off the Eastern Road.
Whereabouts in Pompey are you? we are in Portchester.

I'm in Hedge End, which is not far from Pompey at all. Plus I've got rellies in Pompey so I could visit them at the same time if I'm not doing anything else that day.
Where is Eastern Road, Tracey? Is it in Southsea, Old Portsmouth or somewhere that I'd have no hope of finding?
