Harmony Park, Singleton (Singleton is half way between Mandurah & Rockingham) at 11am on Sunday 4th May. Anyone welcome we hope to meet some of you there providing it is not raining. There is a lovely lake & nice clean playground for the children, BBQ area & seating but suggest you bring chairs or a blanket & a picnic if you are staying a while.

We've just moved here from the UK, been here 4 weeks now, and are renting in Rockingham. We've just got the kids into school, they seem happy to go so that has been a relief. We have 3, emma (11), Aaron (9) and Jeremy (7). I'm not working yet and the days can be a bit long- our things haven't got here from England yet either-so much for 5 weeks transit time! - we're still in sleeping bags, and hoping it doesn't get much colder in the next few weeks- I only brought one jumper each!
Anyway, thought I'd say Hi, I see there is a meet on Sunday, so I hope to make that and see some of you then

Hi Elspeth,
We have been here for 9 weeks now and our stuff is finally being delivered next Tuesday. Apparently customs are very behind at the moment. With so many people migrating to WA, they can't keep up. Well, that's the excuse we got, anyway. We had to buy new beds and bedding and we have garden furniture in the dining room, otherwise we would've been stood up to eat. I even bought a set of cheap pans to cook in, and boy, were they cheap. They are crap, basically. Who are your moving agents? We used Anglo Pacific, who were very good in the UK, except that they forgot to inform us of customs delays. By the way, we are Michelle, Nigel and Sam (13). Hope you get your stuff soon.

Just logged on- took a while to find my way back to the message! Lucky you getting your suff! We've just had a call- 26th May for ours, have bought the children beds- we're still sleeping on a mattress on the floor!. Do you know anything about schools in the area? Its very difficult to judge but our childrens school seems ok for the younger ones, but our daughter's (11) class has some discipline problems!
Will you be going to the social on Sunday?

we are going to try and make it on sunday to the meet. how do you like rockingham ? we are just up the road in port kennedy but spend a lot of time on the foreshore in rockingham . what school did you put your children into ? we put our daughter into the one nearest us in port kennedy when we arrived . thought we would give it 6 months and see how she gets on .it is taking her some time to settle but think we are getting there now with her . she is 10 and didnt want to move here away from her friends and family did yours feel the same?
know how you feel about your furniture think its never going to arrive but its great when it does .

Sorry to have missed you on Sunday- we did go but had to leave early, seemed like a crowd there.
On a similar vein- anyone fancy meeting for coffee on the foreshore (rockingham?) this week? or next..
I'm happy to come during school hrs or after with children- whichevers easier- I'm still a lady of leisure so need to make the most of it!
