Brisbane Mummy's Group
Hi folks.
I'm expat Brit and hubby is expat Irish. We are both aussies as well but returned to live in Ireland 4 years ago. Since then we've had two little babies.. son 3 years old and daughter 5.5 months old. We're returning to live in Brisbane to be nearer my family and friends on 1st June - very excited!
I normally chat on rollercoaster.ie as it's an irish forum and we have an 'moving to Australia' thread on there. Some of the Irish mums who are moving to Brisbane - well we've been chatting and are going to meet up regularly. It would be great to have a regular monthly or weekly meet and coffee chat with other expats in Brisbane. I know Brissie is a big place but we're moving southside so if there are other mums who'd like to meet up just contact me and we'll start a list (might even start a website if I get the energy together! lol!). I guess it's probably more for mum's of younger children say under 5 or 6 but no restrictions really. It would just be really nice to touch base with other expats and make friends esp as moving with young children is hard enough the last thing you want to feel is isolated.
Anyway.. just thought i'd sus out the response on here.. what do you think? good idea?

Hi, we've started doing something similar on the Gold Coast, only met up once as yet, again tomorrow. Great for those of us who are at home with the kids all day. Mine are 4, 3 and 16 months, so tremendous fun!! Do you have an area in mind that you're moving to? Maybe a bit far for me, but hopefully there are a good few mums up there who'd love to meet up.

Hi there. We have just moved to the East side (Wakerley - near Manly West). I have a 3 year old boy and a 11 month old boy. I would be very keen to meet up when you get here. We are new to the area and it would be fun to make new friends! All the best.
Hi there - just joined up and seen your message. Did you manage to organise any meets? we've just moved south of brisbane, with two small children also and would love to meet some ex-pats. Siobain

Hi, we are in the process of doing our visa's so early days yet. But we are moving to Brisbane and what a great idea, i have a 2 year old and 1 year old. As you say its a big place but who knows may be near. Its good to know of groups like this as being a mum of young kids can be lonely and even more so moving to oz.
