anyone in Surrey? - Page 3

Been a while since I came on here, is anyone still around or have you all gone to Oz already? As I said in an earlier post Im in Surrey (just outside of Sutton) and hoping to move to Brisbane. My husband is an electrician and has his vetassess practical in October (very nervous bout it too). Be good to hear from anyone still here.

Hi. Wow yer small world. Where in Sutton are you? Im off A217 near harvester & tesco. Do you know where in Brisbane you're going? Ive never been there so dont know anything about areas etc. What do you do for a living or your partner?

Hey, we're also from Carshalton! Also born at that lovely looking hospital/ eye sore!

Currently living in Cremorne, Sydney on the Lower North Shore, would love to meet up with you guys when you get here if this is where you are planning to head to.

My sister was awful about our move, told me I was ruining the family plan (which was apparently we were to live close and bring up our future kids together) although I had never been told about it. Most people understand and tell you it's a fantastic opportunity and go for it. Once they get over the initial shock it's ok.

My family are al still in Carshalton and we are renting out house out there too. My Mum in in Arlington Drive off of Culvers Avenue and our house is in EIndhoven Close (hence my PIO name).

Please feel free to ask all the questions you need, there is so much help and support on here.

Yes I know all those places!

I live 2 minutes from St Helier hospital, just off of Wrythe Lane. Im moving to the Redlands area in Brisbane.

I went to Brisbane last year to have a look around. It seems to have places to suit everyone!

I am a primary school teacher but I am on a career break as i've had a baby and would like to spend more time with her.

What do you guys do and where are you planning on living?

Hi. So Eindhoven is life in Oz much better than home? My family & my hb family are all being supportive, there have been lots of tears but they all say were doing the right thing.
So what are the benefits of renting your house here? Were trying to sell but things are very bad here as Re property so renting maybe an option for us. I read you get some kind of benefit ot grant, do you know about this?? Do you rent in Oz or have you bought yours?
Im a childminder lala, and hoping to move to Brisbane too, although we have never been there so dont know about areas yet. Want to live close to beach but not right on it, and nowhere too rowdy, any ideas??

Life in Oz is fantastic! It's all about the great outdoors here and you mainly get the weather to do it. Although when it rains, it rains like you have never seen before but thankfully that is not often. There is so much to see and do, wonderful beaches plus we get the benefits of being in a great city.

We came out in January this year and visited back home in June and that trip definately confirmed we have done the right thing, just walking through Sutton High Street confirmed that for us. The only thing I miss are my friends and family and NEXT!.

Everyone is so nice here, even getting ona bus they ask 'How are ya?'. There are lots of different cultures here but unlike the UK they all get along. Not sure if it's the same in Brissie. If you come open minded you will love it out here I'm sure
