We lived in Wareham Close - back of Queens Road. We flew out beginning Sept 07 and had a few days stopover in Singapore. We have settled in Narangba, Brisbane as its about 40mins from the CBD - hubby an engineer so needs to be an hour at the most away from his jobs. We have found it to be very laid back and friendly, the weather is very warm and so far we've coped ok with it although its not been as hot as it should be! We've had alot of rain here, which is unusual but as there is a water shortage its helping. They are very hot on recycling and water waste here. For the 1st time since we arrived we were permitted an hour to wash our cars on a certain date and the next day the even numbers in the street were allowed to do theirs! I don't like the insects at all but i've always been that way. Kids are settled extremely well into their new routine and love school/nursery! We have rented a beautiful house with a pool and have met some lovely people. You have to make yourself get out there to meet people or it won't happen, so I joined a gym and various playgroups and anything to do with school and after 5 months I have made some fab mates. It's not easy and its a rollercoaster everyday how you feel but we are very happy now that everythings sorted and our house contents here!!! The best advice I can give you all at this stage is appreciate everyone you have around you now and get plenty of good memories because it takes awhile to meet people, if you think positive and get yourself into things it will happen. You will miss people but if you keep busy here you will soon get into the lifestyle and all it has to offer. We would'nt go back, only to visit family.
