Whats Good On The Barbie!!!

Hi All,

Just about to start cooking dinner and then thought to myself 'whats good on the barbie apart from the burgers and hotdogs'

So what meats/fish do you use and what do you marinade them in?? Also what goes with what, potato, salad, rice?

Also whilst on here can anyone tell me how you go about making the coconut king prawns? Had them in the USA and they were delicious.

Getting real hungary now , so come on whats your speciality??

First of all I have my sister on the phone talking about her new swimming pool and how they are all sitting outside in their shorts and T-shirts then you come online and ask about things for the Barbie....

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggggggggggggggghh hhhhhhhhhhh

Just thought I would let you know that it is -3 outside (has been nearly all day) and we are away to have a hearty/stodgy meal of stew to heat us up.

Enjoy your sunshine and your Barbie - hopefully it will not be too long until we are basking in the sunshine and throughing another shrimp on the barbie !!!!

Oh sorry Gill, I'm not there yet i'm still here but dreaming

Been collecting info on here and put it onto word, and was just thinking about some nice barbie meals to put in a receipe page. I know I can prob look something up on the net but its nice to get receipes/ideas from friends.
My cousin sent me an email on Christmas day to say 'far too hot for anything but cray fish on the BBQ today' lol

Have to think of the summer when its gloomy outside, i'm sure I suffer from SAD! LOL

So you got any ideas?

It's ok Gill, alot of peeps on PIO today dont seem in a very good mood, so thought food could be a lighter subject to touch on.

Think I better log off and hope that everyone in better frame of mind tomorrow LOL

Regards

Hello

I'm not in Oz yet either - still waiting for a CO.

My favourite thing is to have a BBQ breakfast! There's something really special about eating eggs, bacon sausage etc done on the barbie in the morning. We do this in the winter too - traditionally on Boxing Day, the kids love it!!

I still dont think you can do better than a sausage on a barbie.

I cant wait to start trying to cook fish on ours will have to invest in a good recipe book unless you want to write your own with all the recipes you collect

..we had fish cooked on barbie quite a few times and it was lovely!..we put red emporer & snapper in foil..i'm not a great fish eater like my hubbie, but it was good!..our Aus friends use to have loads of breakfast barbies and i tell you what..first thing in the morning..blue skies and listening to the Aus birds..it was fine!!
