I want to move to Oz!!!

Hi Everyone

I am looking for some inspiration from all you courageous people who have already done it or are planning to head out to Oz on your own. No one will do it with me and I need to do it soon!! Thinking of June time. Has anyone planned to go then?? I am looking at doing a bit of travelling before I settle in Oz as my mate has 6 weeks off work and wants to come with me for that time. Although I spent 8 years in Spain I still feel like I need to know there are like minded people like me where I will be!! Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

kerry go for it. I am going on my own in april. I am leaving every one I love and know back in the uk. For me now is the time for things to change. Don't get me wrong I am scared but I want it to work, it sounds like you are younger than me, so just go for it. If I can help I will, do where you heading for , have you work planned? ginny x

hiya ginny you must be joking!!!!hahaha. well i have different ideas of what i want everyday but keep changing my mind. although i have decided that 6 weeks with my mates not enough so im going to speak to an agency here who have work in oz!!! so spose its something. iv also spoken with people i know who are going at certain times too so thats good. what about you??? goo to hear from you.

Hey Kerry,

Go for it if its something you really want and need to do!! You sound a very determined girl and sound like you have some guts to do it alone. I am the same age as u and have recently got married and prob want to have babies soon. And want to bring up my family in ahealthy and nice environment. I am a bit nervous about not making any friends but at the end of the day you have to go out and make the effort!!

Where ya thinkin of goin to? Were thinkin or Newcastle NSW as there seems to be plenty of jobs for hubbie as he is an engineer-fitter. Hopefully there are plenty of jobs for me too, as it seems very arty and would luv to do something related to my art degree.

What job do you do?

Sounds like ya will be fine movin to aus if ya lived in Spain for 8 years, alright its a quite a bit further, but its hopefully a culture you will be able to fit in easily.

Anyway girlie, best of luck to ya and fingers crossed it is a heart renching time deciding what to do, do I stay or do I go?!!
Think were goin to put big app in Monday!! ahhhhhh its a bit scary!!!!!

Its a massive decision, but at the end of the day you only have one life!!!

Hi Kerry,

So exciting, making a decision like that, go for it! I've been out here on my own for 3 weeks now, and although the job part has been harder than I thought, it's still been a great adventure and hopefully things will just keep getting better. I'm in Melbourne at the moment but not sure whether to stay here or head to Sydney it depends how quickly I get a job.

As someone else said, what have you go to lose. You can always go home if you don't like it!
