Moved over to Sydney at the end of June with my fiancee, loving life out here so far but am missing girlie chats & shopping trips!

Love the way you can get english food out here (esp Marmite) but haven't managed to find any cadburys buttons yet!

Welcome to Sydney! I think you've summed up the feeling of many girls who have arrived out here - check out 'Sydney girlie friends' thread (we're on number 2 now!) we've started meeting each month and the next time we're meeting is on the 29th (although I won't be able to make it this time). Anyone is welcome to come along and to my surprise there were less poms and girls there last time than you'd guess from the title of the thread, so bring your fiance if you want to go!

As for Cadbury's buttons, try the English sweet shop in Skygarden in Pitt Street, its called 'Treats from Home', they'll probably have them!

Just echoing what Caroline has already said really! There are a few Brit shops about, the only one I've been to is the Treats From Home shop that Caroline mentioned, I'd go in with a budget though or you'll spend a fortune haha!
I'll be at the next meet up on the 29th, so please do come along and of course bring your fiance too! We planning on meeting at Darling Harbour for drinks/food, but haven't confirmed a time yet. Have a look at the thread in Socialising and Get Togethers, PM me if you like and if you come I'll give you my mobile number so you can find us. It was interesting the first time we met up as none of us knew each other or had each other's mobile numbers!

Thanks, I'll try & find that sweet shop. I found the british lolly shop in Cockle bay the other week they sell alsorts of things including colmans mustard!!

It'd be good to meet up with you all.

hi guys,
we came out in June too and although I am not missing much about Blighty I am glad i can get my marmite!
I am missing my girly friends though... oh (sigh) if only they would have come with me!:)
