Hi anyone moving to the Gold Coast, Brisbane?

Hello!

Im new to the site and i am moving to Oz in October with my boyfriend and 14 month old son. (Getting very nervous now!) Would be good to hear from anyone moving there and any advice/feedback on the area would be great xx

we spent 2 weeks in Brisabne , it was too busy for us so we quickly found our selves travelling down to the gold coast every other day.
the main reason was the schools we had researched for our 6 year old twin girls.
Brisbane traffic can be busy i travel to work at 6 am and the roads are busy then, once any where near the city at 7 am the traffic can come to stand still and adds at leat half an hour onto the journey, and thats not on the days when there are crashes etc.

travelling through the city or bypassing it via the gateway motorway bridge or about the same at 7am.

Come from East London to Brissie 2 and a 1/2 years ago and never looked back! Compared to London life its a breeze.

Were in the first stages of deciding to move to that area. Have you been there before? Where abouts in the Gold Coast will you be? How long and which visa have you gone through?

Not sure where Redlandshire area is but we are hopefully moving to Pacific Pines area, my boyfriends sister and family live nearby so thats prob the main reason we are going there. Its such a big move its nice to speak to people in the same situation.

We went on a visit for 6 weeks back in March/April, fell in love with southern end of Gold Coast as not quite so hectic, Coolangatta and Currumbin Valley area.....not sure about Redlandshire area either, is it nearby?!?. We submitted our 136 visa application on 12th June and now playing waiting game, have two young boys so schools a priority around that region too......any reccomendations from you lucky ones already there??!!!
Glad to hear there are so many people like us we can meet up with eventually!
