Hi 4dam
I am also moveing to brisbane with my parent end of feb beginning of march have been there on holiday great place but do need friends
keep in touch let me know how your getting on . By the way my names Freddie and im 18 useing my mums link.
although i am a mother of four i thought i would e-mail in reply to the above. Brisbane is a beautiful place to live and you will find that making new friends over here in oz is very different than in the UK. you are outside doing more and meeting more people and i personally feel that people are just alot friendlier.
Like i said i have four kids but i have friends who have 18 year old kids so i can always put you in contact you if like when you arrive.
We will be holding a get together on a sunday afternoon once a month starting in February at our inddor chidrens play centre/cafe. you do not have to have children to come along... and my friends daughter who is 18 looks after my 5 month old daughter so she will be around to meet if you wish. The business is on the side side of brisbane. at Logan Central. address... 440 Kingston Road, its called Wriggle It. we will be changing the name to The Wacky Warehouse so look out for either depending on when you arrive.
But don't worry about it all, I am sure you will love life over here. All of my kids absolutely love it
Hi mumabee, my hubby and 2 children are flying out in 3 weeks time, I have an 8yr old daughter and a 12 month old son. I am not going to be working for a while and wondered if they have mother and baby/toddler groups out there, so that I can meet new friends etc. Its kinda daunting not knowing anyone.
see you soon
Cath
Hi, We (my wife and 7yr old son and 3 yr old daughter) arrive in Brisbane on 10th September from the UK, I agree its scary not knowing anyone and daunting leaving everyone behind. Would love to maybe meet up with people in the same boat as us. My wife Sarah is a nurse and will be working north of Brisbane, Chermside. We will probably be renting near there. Any social events or advice would help.
