Guest linseyj
I got one of the those phonecalls yesterday all of you, including me, have been dreading since I made the move. My grandad passed away suddenly at home, an accident he fell down the stairs and died. He bought me up, along with my nan, as a child and was like a dad to me. The pain I am feeling is horrendous but I am so thankful I made the trip over to wales 2 weeks ago 4 his bday party, I nearly didnt go because of the money factor but my OH persuaded me to go. I spent an awesome week with him and will never forget the time I spent at home. The moral of this post is, PLEASE, if you feel you should make that trip home, do it, I would never of forgiven myself if I hadnt. I now have to focus on my growing belly and try and put the hurt aside. Life is cruel and my unborn baby is giving me the strength to carry on.

ali
Sorry to hear about your grandad, but so glad you've got lasting happy memories to remember him by. My OH's grandma passed away just before we migrated, she urged us in our adventure and we were sure that if she could have made the journey at 92 she would have visited us. It's so nice to be able to look back and remember good times. God Bless Ali x

KazzE
oh hunny, this must be such a hard time for you, take time to grieve your loss, scream, shout and cry..................................... You have some great recent memories as well as your time growing up with your Grandad that will give you comfort. My Dad passed in Feb and I had a huge wobble the other day, just woke up feeling very flat and wishing he was still with us................................... But I also have lots of fond thoughts of him, thinking how he would react to something, like the bowls clubs new surface, I smiled as I drove past thinking about how much he loved playing and socialising there. The happy thoughts out weigh the flat, sad days, it will get better in time (hard to believe now I know) and I talk to him a lot too, mostly in private, in the shower or the car, it helps but I will get the shock of my life if he ever answers me back. take care X

Guest AnnChovy
Sorry for your loss. It is marvellous that you had that time with him so recently. Hang onto those happy memories! It is so hard to lose someone that close but the pain gets less in time. Look after yourself (and your bump). The old circle of life keeps turning......
