Pets to Tasmania from the UK

Anyone done this? Who did you use? And how much did it cost?

We brought our 2 jack russels over from the UK July 06 . We used Andy Whylie at Pinehawk Kennels and Livestock Shippers. phone number 01223 290249 He was brilliant, sorted all the paperwork . He knew more than our vets who had not had any animals going to Australia. Both travelled together in a crate but seperated by a mesh.The crate was sorted by Andy . Dogs were collected by him from our house and taken to the airport. He rang Melbourne to see if they were OK. Cost of this 1661 GBP this was not including the vet fees for blood test etc. You have to get a licence to import the animal from the Australian Government and I think that this is $125. They then had to stay in Melbourne Quarentine centre for 30 nights this cost $1305 for the 2 dogs . The Quarentine stay was also organised by Andy, we just had to pay the fees when they were due to come out. they were then picked up from Spotswood Animal Quarentine Station in Melbourne by Jet Pets taken to the airport for the flight onto Hobart the cost of this was $383 for the 2 dogs Jetpets contact Melbourne 03 93394300. What part of Tassie are you thinking of moving too as I am sure that animals can fly into Launceston Airport as well as Hobart.
