Citizenship Question

Hi All,

Excuse me if this has been asked before but to save trawling old threads I thought id post again.

We are due for citizenship in a few months and I was wondering on the proceedure.

I know you have to apply, then get accepted (hopefully) the sit a test, then wait for the ceremony....all good so far!

Once the ceremony has taken place do we receive a certificate (or something) there and then, and then do we use that to get our passports?

I guess my question is how long/quick can we get passports after the ceremony?

Thanks in advance.

You get the citizenship certificate at the ceremony (Unless the person that signs your certificates before the ceremony is unavailable for some reason - was reported by a forum member in one of the threads).

You then use the certificate to apply for a passport. Waiting a week before heading to the post office should be plenty, in my experience anyway.
