partnership
I know that at my age I cannot get the skilled visa. We have a son and grandchild living in Australia and wish to move there. Looking at my options to move. 1. Wait on son to get pr and then have him sponsor us - understand cost, not sure if he has to have pr for a certain length of time first. Also the contributory visa takes about 2 years so would rather go sooner if possible. 2. 457 sponsored visa - would have to get job first and am unsure how to go about this. Have been on different recruitment sites but get overwhelmed. My degree is in HR. 3. Student visa - there are big costs with this and can't work full time but it would be quicker. Are there any other ways or what would your advice be on the above options? I know that the government is currently looking at family visas so hopefully something will come up. wrussell
At your age, you might have an issue persuading the mimister that you are a genuine student. The minister is permiited to discriminate on the basis of age. There is a long-stay visa for parents in the pipeline. You might want to keep yourself informed about this.
