Hi everyone. I first joined the forum about 7 years ago. I've been gone for a while but I've never given up my dream of moving to Australia. Now I'm back and feeling determined and hoping that a move for our family is getting closer. I'll become a registered nurse in the summer and can't wait to get some experience here and fingers crossed successfully applying for our visas.

Thanks for having me back. I'm looking forward to following other people's journeys and getting some adice for ours.

Well done for keeping the dream alive.

Any idea what year you'd be in a position to make the move?

We are hoping to attend the down under expo in Glasgow to get a better idea of visa process. I'd love to be applying right now!!!

My husband is nearly 40 and is a mechanical engineer.

I'm 37 and as I said will qualify as a nurse in the summer.

Weighing up who is best for main visa applicant. And then if it's me I believe I would get more points for my age if I apply before I am 40 compared to if I wait until I'm past 40 but have more experience!?! Does that make sense??

I really hope we will be in a position to apply soon xxx

We went away from the idea of making the big move and then came back to it and now are in the (hopefully) closing stages of achieving a visa.

Whereabouts are you looking to move to?
