Stratocaster1959
Help please ... Original 651 application lodged 7th Nov 2016. Further information requested from case officer on 14th November 2016, information provided (attached to email as unable to attach in immi account) and returned to case officer 15th November 2016, I have re-sent this information several times and also requested updates via the webform in immi and also by email but as of today 23rd Jan 2017 I have not received ANY correspondance, confirmation, update from the department of immigration. Why so long to reply ? Footnote: Between Apr 2015 and Sep 2016 I have already spent 456 days in Australia as a tourist. Thank you in advance for any clues, guidance, help, advice. can1983
there are only 510 days in this period - surely that answers why there is a delay.... They probably don't consider you are a genuine tourist
Stratocaster1959
...but I am a genuine tourist ! I am semi retired, ex HM Armed Forces, living on a monthly pension for life and I have a blemish free character, I travel a lot and work when I want/need to. They requested "further information" and I provided it immediately (confirmation of my itinerary, proof of income etc) but I have not received any feedback/progress/request for information, nothing, zero correspondence from them since 14th Nov 2016 ... I am baffled !

I am baffled ! In your eyes you may be a tourist, but to DIBP spending that ling in Australia you look as if you are living here on tourist visas -which is not something they like. They may also be suspicious as to whether you are working while in Oz- "working when you want/need to" is a red flag type of statement. MaggieMay24
You're generally allowed to be in Australia for a maximum 12 months in any 18 month period, so they may be waiting until you've been outside Australia for 6 months before granting the visa.
